Department of Education and provides high-impact training and technical assistance to state education agencies in the Northwest states.

We have not only received valuable guidance on mentoring best practices, but have had the opportunity to deeply reflect on our entire organizational structure, and make it better! Eco Schools is an environmental club dedicated to promoting environmentally-friendly actions in the White Oaks School community to allow WOSS to maintain its Ontario Eco School degree of certification.
This student led club meets once a week after school to work together and organize various “green” initiatives. New members are always welcome! Culturefest provides an opportunity to celebrate the different cultures at WOSS through cultural booths, food and performances by White Oaks students. The event will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2014 at 6pm in the South Cafeteria. Performances vary from dances, singing, spoken poems and other forms.
You are also welcome to create a booth with information on a country you would like to represent and have cultural food present for tasting. Students new to Canada or anyone interested in meeting people from around the world are invited to join the Newcomer Club. Meetings are usually held during lunches and offer the opportunity to meet new people, engage in fun activities and find out more about opportunities at WOSS and in the community. The club also hosts an annual newcomer orientation day and several outings throughout the year. Dance Team is a place for students who love to dance. We learn combos, take classes, students can share their choreography and work on their performance skills. We hold auditions at the start of the year, but anyone who is interested should see Miss Carson, since we have openings throughout the school year.
We work in all styles and participate in a variety of performance opportunities. For example, dance team has put together pieces for the Remembrance Day, Earth Day and Holiday assemblies, for Culturefest and even the Creating a Scene festival. During years when the school puts on a musical, we will also help to choreograph the show and students will have a chance to perform! The purpose of the computer science club is to gather people interested or knowledgeable in computer programming, as well as learn and collaborate with other students and share experiences.
On a typical day, the group may gather together and participate in group logic activities. Our group provides equal attention to newcomers and advanced programmers, we split into different groups for advanced and newcomers, this way we can ensure that no one is left out. We gladly accept new members, and everyone is welcome to join! Have you always wanted to relax and restore your energy levels while getting a great workout? If your answer is yes, then the WOSS Yoga Club is for you! Each week, our class will stretch and tone your muscles while bringing calmness to the body and mind.
